A Swimming Pool's Basic Components
Each style of the swimming
pool has four components that must be maintained on a regular basis. These are
some of them:
1.
Pool Water
It may seem obvious,
but the water in your pool is crucial to long-term pool enjoyment. By keeping
it clean, clear, and balanced, you and your family are protected from toxins
and contaminants. It also extends the life of your pool by preventing expensive
hardware repairs due to corrosion or mineral build-up.
2. Interior of the pool
The pool liner's walls
are constantly in contact with the pool water and everything that enters it.
Keep these areas clean and clear of algae, mounds, and debris to keep your pool
clean and safe.
3. Filtering System for Swimming Pools
Your pool's pounding
heart is also its liver. Okay, that's a little strange. Consider this: your
pool pump takes water and circulates it, much like your heart circulates blood.
The same way your liver filters out last night's cheesy fries from your blood,
your pool cleaning company
filter removes dirt
and other impurities from your water.
Both will keep you and
your pool safe. Without a working filter system, your pool will quickly become
hazy, dirty, and unsuitable for swimming.
You might have a
cartridge filter, a sand filter, or diatomaceous earth (D.E.) filter,
depending on your setup. A saltwater chlorinator, if you have a saltwater
system.
4. Pool Skimmers
and Returns
If the filter in your
pool is the liver, the skimmers and returns are the veins and arteries. Your
skimmers—not to be confused with the cleaning equipment attached to a
telescoping pole known as a net skimmer—pull water into the filter for
cleaning, while the returns push the cleansed water back into your pool. They
perform best when they're free of obstructions, just like your veins and
arteries.
No two pools are comparable, and as time goes on, you'll undoubtedly face pool management difficulties unique to your pool. However, if you have a good grasp of these four pool components, you'll be well prepared to deal with most upkeep issues.
